Regional Lead – North East England & Yorkshire

The role

Reporting to the National Sales Director – England and working closely in cross-collaboration you will be part of a field-based team to drive commercial sales and product education within the opioid dependence space.

Key Responsibilities  

  •      The Regional Lead is accountable for sales performance of the Camurus portfolio through the development and delivery of the regional business plan.

  •      The Regional Lead has responsibility for planning and delivering all activities with key stakeholders and influencers to secure patient access to innovative treatments.

  •      Internally this position reports to the National Sales Director. Cross functionally collaboration with all stakeholders will be performed, including Medical, Marketing, Quality, Market Access, and Commercial Leadership Team.

  •      Externally this position interacts with Health Care Professionals, Local Authorities, NHS service providers, voluntary service providers, criminal justice providers and other healthcare organisations.

Commercial and Therapy Knowledge

  •      Develops and maintains productive relationships with key influencers who have the capability to influence, promote or inhibit Camurus business within the local health economy.

  •      To be an expert on the commercial and drug treatment environment by keeping up with the changing landscape, understanding national policies and how this translates to the local environment, the policies in place, the priorities of critical health care decision makers and the goals of key organizations to help secure access to and drive uptake of Camurus product/s across local health economies.

  •      Develop an understanding of the Buvidal® models of care/implementation process and support steps required in each case.

  •      Be able to demonstrate the fluid crystal technology by using the approved demo syringes for training. 

  •      Keep abreast of and operate within the law and local/national guidelines and take appropriate action.

Account Management

  •      Develop, implement, and review the regional business plan to ensure it meets the needs of customers and Camurus.

  •      Analyses and prioritizes accounts, available budget, and resources to achieve optimum patient access and maximum return on investment.

  •      Proactively share information and provide recommendations based on external customer insights to inform strategic decision making, local business planning and resource allocation to maximize business opportunities and create value for Camurus, customers and patients.

  •      Develop key account plans and undertake regular review and adaptation of plans with the UK Business Unit Head and other key internal stakeholders to reflect the changing environment.

  •      Accountable for ensuring plan activities are executed to drive short-, medium- and long-term sales growth in key accounts.

  •      Proactively identify and develop advocates in key accounts to influence decisions and drive business, providing them with support and development in a manner consistent with the ABPI Code of Practice.

  •      In depth knowledge of each individual account, where the drug budget sits, supervision budgets, contract, and tender process for providers.

  •      Build influential relationships with key external stakeholders in opioid dependence (e.g., specialist clinicians, drug treatment teams, specialist nurses, key workers) to drive education and usage of Buvidal®, ensuring Health Care Practitioners are trained and supported for administering Buvidal®.

  •      Accountable for education and training of key stakeholders in a defined geographical area.

  •      Ensure each service is provided with adequate marketing materials, support and training.

  •      Deliver impactful face to face or virtual, individual and group interactions with key influencers.

  •      Ensure CRM is kept up to date with accurate information according to Camurus requirements.


  •      Ensure all business planning tools are maintained and used effectively.

  •      Work within the legal framework of compliant commercial practice (eg., ABPI code) and Camurus policies to ensure that any promotional activity is compliant.

  •      Take ownership of your personal development, maximizing opportunities for education.

  •      Immerse yourself within the cross functional team to create the environment and advocacy that will enable peer to peer sharing of clinical experience.

  •      Execute other duties as may be required.

  •      Responsible for upholding the integrity of Camurus’ vision and aligning this to deliver outcomes/solutions for customers and ultimately patients.

Partnership working and commercial opportunities

  •   Responsible for commercial programs, deals, rebates and investments at a regional level to support delivery of regional business objectives.

Professional Experience  

  •      Successful track record in Key Account Management within the healthcare sector or Drug Treatment Service Experience.

  •      Project management, influencing and negotiating skills.

  •      Experience of business planning and delivery on the plan.

  •      Excellent working knowledge of the assigned country environment including Local Authority, NHS and public health policies, structures, funding streams and processes.

  •      Experienced user of MS Office package.
